COO will perform a concert at 8:00 June 24 at the Ogden Amphitheater. On this one hour concert we will play a variety of classical, light classical, and popular music, which we think will appeal to everyone. Featured pieces will include the first movement of the Beethoven 5th Symphony, the finale of the William Tell Overture (think The Lone Ranger), and music from Pirates of the Caribbean.
The concert is free and all ages are invited to come out for this night of fun music.
May 2 is our first annual Family Concert, “Classically Pops.” 7:30 at Ogden’s Union Station in the Browning Theater. We will be partnering with the Girl Scouts of Utah, and HopeKids. The Girl Scouts will open the program with a flag ceremony, followed by the National Anthem, played by the orchestra The orchestra will play a variety of light classical and film music, which we hope will please everyone.
There will be a Children’s March at the beginning of the concert, and all children are welcome to participate. Costumes are suggested, but not required.
LoveUTGiveUT is just around the corner. Thanks to a generous donor we have a $2,000 matching grant, but to get it we need $2,000 in donations. Every bit helps, and you can help by going to our LUGU site and donating what you can. Our Red Dress concert is presented by Ogden Regional Medical Center. We will play Grieg’s beautiful Heart Wounds and the Last Spring, Shostakovich’s sassy and virtuosic Cello Concerto no. 1 (Douglas Ball is the soloist), and Beethoven’s iconic Fifth Symphony.
The concert is at 7:30 in the Browning Theater at Union Station. A reception before the concert (hosted by Ogden Regional) begins at 6:45. Tickets are still only $5.00, and may be had at the door.

Our next concert is February 28, 2015. This is the annual Red Dress Concert, which is sponsored by Ogden Regional Medical Center. Everyone is encouraged to wear red to help celebrate American Heart Month. There will be lots of information on heart health, and ORMC is hosting a reception from 6:45 to 7:15, prior to the concert.
Repertoire for this concert includes Grieg’s Heart Wounds and the Last Spring, the first movement of the Shostakovich Cello Concerto No. 1, with orchestra cellist Douglas Ball as soloist, and Beethoven’s Symphony No. 5.
