Our first concert of the season is September 26, 7:30, at Union Station. Three works will be featured on this concert. The concert will open with Schubert’s Overture in D (In the Italian Style). Following this, Peggy Wheelwright, the orchestra’s Concertmaster, and Michael Palumbo, conductor of the orchestra, will perform the first and third movements of Mozart’s Sinfonia Concertante, K364 with the orchestra. The final work, Lieutenant Kije by Prokofiev, tells in music the story of the fictitious Lieutenant in the Tsar’s army in Russia in the 19th century. You won’t want to miss hearing about his exploits told in music.
As with all of our concerts, this one will be about one hour in length. Tickets are $5.00, active military and their families are free, and children 8 years of age and over are welcome.
